How old do you think a child should be before they are allowed to have a cell phone of their own? Why?
I think that they should be teenagers and be able to pay for them themselves before having them, except in special situations. I have a fried whose 7 year old daughter has one, but it is only for her to use in iportant situations when the little girl is not with her mom. My kids all want them, but I will not let them have one until they are able to work to pay the bill on their own.

for me the right age for my kids (someday) should get a cellphone is when they're already in school so i can contact with them anytime. Its really hard nowadays not to contact your kids away from you, it feels uncomfy and some parents wants to check on their kids too every now and then
