I have been in that situation. Last November, I met someone for the first time. He was actually a chatmate, and we became very close friends, chatting almost every day. When we first met, there was never an awkward moment. He fetched me in the airport, but I saw him first. So I tapped his shoulder and said, "Hey there, waiting for me."
