NEC computer;having problem with my monitor...

I hada problem regarding my NEC computer monitor. If you turn on the PC, the monitor only showed white..i can hear the usual tune of microsoft and even log in the PIN on it but still you can't see the whole real page. I don't think it could be the video card cause everytime i turn on the PC there's no buzzz you can hear..will it be my monitor itself? What do you think? Please suggest..thanks and cheers
