movies or books?

Do you prefare to read a book first before the movies comes out? I've done this twice, with the da vinci code and with cold mountain. Both times I found that the books were way better. With a few other movies I wished that I had read the books first because I'd hear from people the books were better. What books have you read that you thought the book was better than the movie?

Hi Bensmom, if the movie was based on a book I sometimes read it first but not always. I would think the book would be better than a movie.
