Ok, I get this link in my mail this morning and have to wonder if this person is just plain stupid or maybe there is a small chance that they have on clothing used by stunt men. Either way this is a dangerous thing to do! http://www.Break.com/index/chubby-kid-lights-himself-on-fire.html What if this was your kid? First stop would be a psychiatrist? What do you think?

I agree with too much TV. I really don't think the kid could have been that stupid to realize that burns would be painful.

It is really necessary that such kind of kids are taken to the psychatrist as soon as possible to avoid the problems in future also. It is really important to educate these children of what is the code of living as a human being.

Darwin had it right, survival of the fittest. I wonder if that child will survive to adulthood without intervention from professionals?

Wow that's all I can say. You know Deb, I'm not sure why people do stupid things. I sure would like to smack them though. For this fella, it got him a bit of exercise and made him move probably quicker than ever but that's the only reason I can come up with. He definitly has raised the five W's in my head. Have a great night

Yes, he did get some exercise, I would recommend a different form of exercise though. My most important W is WHY

Hey Deb! I just can't believe that he actually was stupid enough to do this and film it! Where the hell was his parents? At least he was smart enough to be near sand! And did at least also know to stop, drop and roll! What an azzhole! This is what the kids nowadays think is fun! I bet if they were caught in a fire somewhere they would freak and not think it is a game if they could possibly die! I just don't understand how the think of such moronic things to do to pass the time! What could possibly be next? I shudder to think!

Was he smart enough to be near sand or just lucky that it was there. I wonder if anyone is trying to find this kid and his parents and get him some help.

that goes beyond being stupid. That kid is so lucky that he didn't die. It didn't seem that any of them used their brains, What would they hav done if the flames didn't go out. I didn't see no water close by. Its something what some people will do for 15 seconds of fame.

Yes, I agree, it goes beyond stupid...but I wasn't sure what word to use. Stupidest or stupider sounded really dumb! I think with these kids it was a whim--hey guys watch this! or I double dare ya! That child would have been spending months in a burn treatment center and that is if he was lucky.

What an absolute idiot? Why, why, why? That is the first question I was asking, what sort of mentality is this? It's not funny, it's not amusing, it's highly stupid and what kind of message does this send out to others, his peers in particular? He definitely needs to be sent to a shrink no question about it. I am sorry but I have absolute no patience or pity with these kind of people.

I have to agree, it is not funny and not amusing, his peers did nothing to stop him and what is worse is they brought a camera to film him. I feel sorry for him because a normal person would not do that, he has a problem and is giving no help dealing with it at all.

This is more than stupid. I wouldn't be my kid, because of the way I raise my kids. I have an experience with one only so far, but I know what I am talking about. It is all in the family. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this kid needs a lots of attention, because of pathological family.

I agree, my son was taught and supervised. But even if the kid got no attention, I would think there is still this need to survive and avoid pain, this child does not seem to exhibit any of these qualities.

Because a lot of times people dont think of the consequences. Like for instance during black friday when that person got killed because the people were so stupid and werent thinking which im sure most of them didnt want to kill the kid but sometimes people just dont think which could result to something bad.

What happened on black friday was a mob mentality -- just like the soccer games in Europe. This was a few kids thinking it was going to be fun or funny. We must start teaching our kids to think through the consequences of their actions and this must start from the time they are little.

I wonder how much TV contributes to this kind of activity -- we have shows like 'Jack*ss' and 'Fear Factor', idt must affect the way kids think, they do not understand the dangers involved in different activities. I watch a Japanese show one time where the contest involved jumping between moving tractor trailers -- how stupid can that be?
