Why can't people tell the difference between sarcasm and funny. If its funny its funny!Black comedians might say some jokes about other ethnic groups, but 9 of they ten jokes about black people and even though they talkin about us THAT S**T BE FUNNY!I understand some topics are sensitive, some things just shouldnt be said, and theres a time and place for everything but jeesh! There's nothing that can duplicate back breaking laughter. But some people just cant take a d*mn joke! Why???

I don't know the answer to that but you are very right. Comedians are a perfect example. A person of color or ethnic group can joke about there own, but someone from the outside persay, they take it as racial slanger. I'm a big fan of Jeff Dunham. He goes across the board on some issues, but I think he makes a point too. The why of it all will be a mystery. I think a group of people can be overly sensitive in their thinking. I think society has paced too many stessors on being politically correct that they've lost sight of a lot of things. George Carlin is a great example of it. He was a brillant comedian that picked apart how screwed up things got because of the "policital correct" movement. I'm afraid it will always be that way and that makes me sad to a certain extent. I don't know if that's because that's the main focus of the world today or because people are blindly following others when it comes to pointing a finger and telling another "Hey, that's offensive". If a person can't find humor in themselves, they very rarely found it around them. Good thread. It's though provoking.

You're right. You've got to be able to laugh at yourself once in awhile.I consider myself funny, but I feel sorry for comedians. How can you make someone laugh if society's telling them its "politically incorrect" to?.The funny thing is-They know its funny!Funny is Funny im sorry..White ,Black, about me ,About you .. Im gonna laugh!!

What it is is people dont want to admit that it be true. Its just like the jokes that stem from "You know you Ghetto if" or "You know you a Redneck when" If you fit any of these descriptions- then 9 times outta ten you Ghetto or a Redneck or maybe even both(Can you imagine a Ghetto Redneck?)But no one wants to admit its the truth .Why? "Cause you cant handle the truth!"

There is a lot to be said here. Kind of like a parent can another they're not raising their children right, but they don't practice what they preach. I think finding our own faults are so much harder to swallow then finding faults in others. LOL - Pride is a great thing, but it can cripple a person too.

When you study it awhile I think you will find most humor is hurtful, for me the funniest things are things that I can picture happening to me and I am laughing at myself. I never like things that make fun of others. This is why I love Bill Cosby's humor so much. Things he talks about happen to all of us.
