what's the most intelligent trick your cat ever did?

I used to have a rather light door leading from the corridor to the kitchen. One of my cats - I have four of them right now - used to jump on the door and while he was falling down he hit the knob with his paw and the door opened. This case proves that cats, although said to be not very intelligent animals, have the ability to undertake planned actions and draw conclusions from their observations.

Hi, one of my cats used to swing on the door handle too to try to open it. Sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn't work. Cat's can adapt to their surroundings to make life the easiest they know how.

I guess a lot depends on the knob itself. Some are really loose so they are easy to operate even for a cat.

Animals communicate in many different ways, I don't think cats are any less intelligent then dogs. My cats, have us both figured out pretty well and get exactly what they want. I have had cats that opened doors before, now I do think within the cats world there are ones that are smarter then others.

I agree. Certainly, some cats are smarter than the others and some just behave as if they really don't care.

My cat boots is so smart. He can open doors, and he can wave hi. I play string with him and he gets it caught in one of his claws(not declawed) and I say "hi" and he starts waving! It is so funny. Cats are definetly not dumb. Sometimes, they are smarter than humans!
