My dog plays the guitar

It;s true. My guitar stands permanently in the corner near the dining table, out of its case, ready to play. Each day we have a little routine leading up to the dog's walk. Since my back doesn't allow me to put on my own socks or shoes, my partner has to do it for me, and that is when the fun starts.
The dog can sense the "putting on of the socks" whilst in a deep sleep from four rooms away, and even before she has properly knelt, his nose is in the mix. he nearly pushes her over in his excitement. But he has learned: sometimes the socks go on before my sandals or my going out shoes, and he knows that leaves him out. Often they are preparatory to me putting on my gumboots to go work in the garden, and that leaves him out too.
But my runners, ah, now we're talking. As soon as sharra picks up the runners he goes frantic, and his first act, almost invariably, is to run over to the guitar and brush his nose across the strings, causing it to resonate. I think he gets so excited he has to tell someone, and the guitar is the only person present other than us lol.

This is amazing Lash, because my ferret plays the harpsichord! Maybe we could start a travelling band and make millions!
What a funny dog though. Of all the things he could add to his routine! It is surely the fact that there is cause and effect every time he does this that makes him strum it every time. I used to have a dog that sensed the same whenever I would get changed before school to take him for a walk and he would go absolutely ballistic. lol. No guitar though, but he DID run off and come back with his own lead in his mouth every time! Wouldn't it be great if we too could constantly have this type of enthusiasm for such simple pleasures in life!

And they never get bored with routines.
I think we probably need a couple more members of that band. Perhaps a white mouse in a top hat at the microphone and a ventriloquil frog on the drums. Now THAT could make us millions.

Oh what a clever ferret. Maybe they could do a duet together. He is a funny dog and he never seems to tire of trying to knock me over. I think he is just saying thank you for putting on the shoes and socks so he can go for a walk.
Yes it would be nice to have such simple pleasures. He never gets tired of his walks but if it is raining and he does not get one he gets so sulky and then he thinks about digging holes. lol.

oh wow, how funny, I thought I had it bad with the guitar playing in my place! My youngest son thinks he can play anytime of the day I mean even at 3am he is strumming on the strings of either the acoustic or the electric! Well he does turn the electric way down though, he plays excellent but my ears cant take much more especially when his older Brother comes over and they both go at it!

Yes he is a funny creature. He has the most amazing sock radar I have ever encountered and despite all the training he has been given he has no control over his excitement where socks are concerned.
I wonder if we had left the guitar out before if he might have learned to play as a puppy. It was usually kept in its case and he was not allowed near it. Now he has discovered that he can make music. So far he has not gone past the nose strum but he may learn from that and add more to his repertoire.
