This year I want to be the year when I finally manage to get all my craft supplies organised just right. I have a lot of different crafts and the supplies take up a whole room in our house. I'm after suggestions on getting different supplies stored tidily so that I can find things when I have a project in mind. Please share your organisation ideas.

I spent the last couple of weeks of December and up until this past weekend organizing my craft room. I'm using large totes to store my skeins of yarn and also to store my craft show displays. I use smaller storage units, 3 & 4 drawer totes to house all my jewelry making supplies. I have 2 for my sea glass, another for other ocean items (shells, small piece of driftwood, ocean stones, etc) and a 4 drawer unit for all my beads. All of this is smaller containers or several sizes of ziplock bags. Another 4 drawer unit holds all my tools and my silver and copper components for making bracelets, earrings and wire for wrapping. There are also have a few tupperware-type containers for my polymer clay. All of the totes stack well and one wall in my little room is all totes. stacked up and I have some of jewelry totes on and under my table. I can't believe how long it took to get straightened up, but I'm thrilled that I finally have everything in it's place. It has made sitting down at my crafting table enjoyable again and I'm able to find what I need and make items much more efficiently.

sniksnak, I think i just need you to come on over and you could have a ball in my craft room since you like to organize and decorate! ha! I use shelves and plastic buckets, some stackables but I have SOOO much stuff, I cannot possibly live long enough to do it all! My problem is not wanting to get rid of any of it! Does anyone else have that problem. Am I the only addicted crafter here? I would like to think not. I run out of energy before I get too far with my organizing. Then I get distracted and shut the door and face it again later! Oh well , that is my confession for today!

I did that last summer....I redid my whole craft room including redoing the floor so that I can sweep it up instead of trying to vacumn out little pieces of paper etc. I went and got a ton of shelves and a bunch of storage containers in which to put my stamps etc....so it's pretty organized. The best thing I did was to buy a file holder for all my scrap paper. Now each color is in a hanging folder and quick and easy to find.

there are so many good storage things out there these days. i found this great storage store that offers a lot of solutions. not only that, stores like michaels have a lot of options for people that scrapbook. i have gone to ikea (its a furniture store) and have gotten boxes that have drawers in it - like a mini chest of drawers and i use them for my rubber stamps and paper punches, that sort of thing.
