Resolutions - how long do they last?

Exactly what is the average amount of time you stick to any resolutions you make? I've actually gotten to the point where I dont even make resolutions anymore since I know in advance I wont keep them.

Katr, I hear you. I used to make those promises to better myself, then realized, it's hard to remember to do them every single day. So, since my two older children are near teenagers, I thought I'd ask them what theirs were going to be. So far, they are living up to their resolution...it would make a mother proud! Too bad I'm the mother and I'm not proud. Daughter: "To beat up my brothers!" Son: "To beat up my sister!" See what I mean? But, for my own benifit, I've resolved to keep the house cleaner. I can do it, it's just the children don't follow up with their own chores. *Pleiades

Well let's hope the children arent following through on their resolutions either! :-) Like you, I used to make them and not keep them, then beat myself up about it. Now, I am older and wiser and think: "why bother"?

Hi Katr! I know it maybe late, but I've just been from Howard's discussion announcing your signing up here in Mylot, I would just like to say welcome and I hope you are enjoying yourself here so far. As for topic, never had any resolutions. I do have plans, but not resolutions. Maybe I had 'made up' resolutions when I was in school and I was forced to write something to state our resolutions - you know, those literally compositions. Other than that, it's always que sera sera for me.
