Has anyone read any of his books? Which set is your favorite? Mine is The Elenium. Which translates into The Diamond Throne, The Ruby Knight, and The Sapphire Rose. It's a good set: with fun thieves, stubborn knights, adorable goddesses, and a very determined queen. How about it anyone?

I just finished a David Eddings, Regina's Song, as a matter of fact... I've read the Belgarad series and thought it was great. The one I just finished is nothing like his other fantasy stuff- it was pretty good.

Haven't heard of Regina's Song. Is it any good? I was really disappointed in The Dreamers. I wasn't planning on getting anymore of his after that.

It was pretty good- like I said very different than other stuff he's written. It's about a set of identical twins who no one can tell apart One of the twins is raped and murdered ans the other ends up in a mental hospital. Eventually the one in the hospital is released and then goes na killing spree looking for the murderer. And gets caught-

I totally agree with Anomalie - my favourite are the Belgariad/Mallorean etc, and my favourite character is Silk. He's such an amazingly fun, complex character, and watching him argue with Sadi is one of the best scenes, when Sadi's trying to convince Silk to sell the Nyissan herbs and Silk refuses. I've read the Elenium, but I didn't enjoy those as much, probably because I read the Belgariad etc first, and so those characters resonate more with me. I don't think I've heard of any fans of Eddings' original work enjoying the dreamers series - I couldn't really get into them myself and so they're just sat on my shelf. The Redemption of Althalus was okay, good to fit in as a study break because it's easy to pick up/put back down pretty often. My favourite of all of them though is probably Polgara the Sorceress - it gives you so much insight into her character, feelings and history.

Yeah, Althalus was pretty much filler. Ok, but nothing to write home about. I've read Polgara the Sorceress so many times. It's just so neat to see behind the scenes, as it were. It was so funny, wasn't it? Silk, the corrupt, having scruples. I really, really enjoyed the girls picking on him all the time. He's so used to being the tease, and he was on the short end almost the whole story! Too funny.
