Do You Think Our Dreams Are Trying To Tell Us Something?

Last night I had a weird dream. I was sitting at a concert with my daughter's father (my ex-boyfriend). A singer in the group came in the audience and was right in front of me. My ex-boyfriend sees that the singer has come to me and puts his arm on my leg and his hand between my legs. I get upset, but I don't do anything to cause a scene because everyone is looking at me with the singer right in front of me. After the singer walks away and the concert is over, I walk over to my mother and say, "Why would he do that to me, I like that singer, but it's not like I would have a chance with him anyway, so what's the big deal?" I then woke up from my dream. I don't know why but all day this dream has stuck in my head and I can't seem to get it out. I don't know if it means something or not. Do you think that our dreams have meanings in our lives? Are our dreams trying to tell us something or warn us of something that is going to happen in our lives?

I really would love to know what dreams are all about. Some people say we go to bed with things on our minds and dream about them. Others say they are the opposite to what will really happen. I would love to know their secrets.
I only have had one dream ever that was exactly what happened a few days later. I dreamt I had a baby girl and my Mum was carring her into her house wrapped up in a little pink blanket. A few days later I give birth to a little girl (I did not know what I was having at that time) and my Mum did carry her up into her house in that little pink blanket I saw in my dream. Everything was identical and it was strange.
I suppose it was dayjavous (not sure if correct spelling) but it did seem pretty odd that everything in my dream came true.
Your dream does sound strange also. Maybe this is all on your mind at the moment or as you say it could be a warning of things to come.
I think you can buy books that explain dreams so I am sure you could look this up online somewhere. Thats an idea you know. I think I might look myself you know.
I hope you get to the bottom off this dream as its playing over in your head. It is good sometimes though that we remember our dreams as a lot of them are forgotten about.

Your dream about your daughter reminds me of my dream of my daughter. When I was a teenager, I always wondered if I would ever be a mother. I remember praying that God would show me if I was ever going to be a mother and that night I had a dream of a little girl sitting in a highchair eating speggetti. She had these big blue eyes, and blond curly hair and there was sunlight that shown around her. That dream always stayed with me for years. When I got pregnant the first time, I know in my heart it would be a girl and I had to name her Destiny because she was destined to be my daughter because I seen her already in my dream. I was right, I had a baby girl and I named her Destiny.
When she was about two years old, I had her sitting in her highchair in our kitchen in front of a window. I remember looking at her eating her speggetti with her big blue eyes and her blond curly hair and the sun was shining through that window and gave her such a glow around her, it was the dream I had a few years before she was born. I will never forget that day.

I am not sure to be honest. I believe that our dreams are our subconscious unwinding, so maybe subconsciously you've had your ex bf on your mind, maybe not him but your daughter and since he is the father of your daughter he comes into the mix. Maybe he was the jealous type when you were dating.
I do believe that sometimes we should listen to what our dreams have to tell us.

I think our dreams are trying to tell us, I also believe on that, sometimes a dream warn us for a possible disaster or a premonition or a reminder of something. When I was still in grade six, I lost my ballpen which was quite expensive at that time, it was given to me by my father, I was really afraid because he might angry. Then one night that my ballpen was kept by one of my best friends, on the following day, I asked that friend of mine if my ballpen was with her, then she said yes, she kept it because I misplaced it in our working table for art. Wheww! since then I always believed that dreams are real and not just an imagination or fruits of tiredness.

Hello singlemommym, and thank you for your discussion.
I'll try to keep it as brief as possible, as others have voiced their opinions about how long my responses are.
I usually try to give as much insite as possible, but I don't want to get anyone else made at me, so....
Of course, like many, I've dreamt. However, I observed that I don't always remember them. Those that I did, I eventually learned did mean something.
However, they turned out to be nothing related to what I dreamt about.

LOL! Here's a funny thing. Since December of last year I've dreamed of Ashton Kutcher twice. I don't know why. I have no crushes on him. He's no my favorite actor either. What is this dream trying to tell me? Twice in two months. Hum.. LOL
