I heard people celebrating holiday in a very festive and luxurious manner, they really cater the best things, plan the best gifts and cook the best foods for the reunion or get together during these events. some really spend fortune to make these holiday very special. But with the recent global economic crisis we're experiencing i know that a lot are really getting a hard time planning good celebrations. some families cannot afford to celebrate or to make grand celebrations. Our family amidst this crisis was still able to get through the holiday, we cook some good foods, and give each other Christmas presents, we chat, ate, and drink a little. we celebrate the holiday in a festive manner but we failed to celebrate it grandly, well we don't care about the grand celebration as long as we are together as a whole. I wonder how about my friends here, how did you celebrate the holiday season, did you make a grand vacation with the family and friends? do you think economic crisis somewhat affected our season?

djmarion! As it is not our festival, our means the religion we trust, I have not celebrate it in heart. Our famous festival is Durga Puja. In the year 2003 we have witnessed devastating flood and we have curtailed our budget. My hubby donated one days salary to our Prime Ministers Relief Fund. The recent economic crisis is affecting us but not our festival.

Hi there Marion! People, especially Filipinos enjoy grand feasts and celebrations. We are cheerful and fun-loving people and maybe that's the reason why we spend a lot on special occassions especially the holidays. This new year, we had some disfunctional fireworks, exchange gifts and a lot better food compared to our celebration last year. We also had unending things to gave thanks to the Lord for giving them to us. We just stayed and celebrated the New Year's eve at home. That's a tradition in our family.
