Hidden Files

Does anyone know how to make hidden files? I am getting so tired of my daughter deleting my photos and poetry... I could just cut her fingers off, but I think maybe if there was a way to hide or password protect my files that she could keep all 10 fingers... and I could keep my stuff. so does anyone out there know how I can do this? step by step? (I'm kinda dumb)

I don't know if there is a way to hide your files, but I do know that there is a program that allows you to put passwords on specified folders! I really hope that makes you want your daughter to keep her ten fingers, haha! :D

I don't have any answers for you but I am loving your question and will be reading this for some solutions as well. I had a ton of pics on here that I was editing and planned on printing up for a scrapbook and when I went to work on it one night...lo & behold....no pics at all. The same goes for my music and other things. Granted my daughter uses this computer more than I do but still....It does get quite frustrating doesn't it?

You have many options for hiding files or folders, and also security measures can also be taken by giving password to the folder to be opened. One simple way is that you can hide it in files like windows or program files where files are usually not kept so that she won't bother to check out there, but you have to be careful too as deleting anything in windows folder will be of great loss. There is a software called winrar by which you can zip up many files in one and also reduce the size also, with this winrar you have option for password too so you can keep your files password protected. There is another common method of hiding files and thats by hidding the folder so that she won't see it.

I've had that happen a time or two. I can say that I keep my photos stored in my hotmail - cheap storage there and doesn't fill up my hard drive. As for the written text, you can password protect them - LOL - just don't forget your password.
