Hi friends, Few days ago i saw a body bundling competition here in Mumbai. It was fantastic to c guys flexing their muscles and with huge biceps and wonderful figure. It was exciting as i was with my gym friends and we totally enjoyed our evening. At the end when the judges were distributing the prizes i was surprised as well as felt very sad. The Winner of the competition got a Prize of Rs 10,000/- (Around US $ 208) and a certificate as first prize. The consolation prize was supplement powders and very nominal amounts for the second and the third prize winners. When i think about the amount of time they spend in gyms.. doing all those heavy workouts .. taking care of each and every body part and then competing for that amount makes me very upset. Iam curious to know how body builders are treated in your country? Do they get good sponsors? R people interested in body buiders or body building? Plz share. Cheers, Tutul

Hi abhi, Y there is no use of body building? Just becoz there is no investors here in India ? or lack of glamour? Well this cricket crazy nation should divert their attention ot other sports as well. IAm glad that some of our boxing players won some medals and grabbed some attention. I hope they get some sponsers and much needed media attention now. Cheers, Tutul

Body buliders do get a raw deal in India. Many don't even know that we have had world champions from this country in this sport. I remember that our builders lost out on medals in international competitions because they did not have masseurs accompanying them & no trainer to guide them on body weight.(it a art to be just below the your body weight category on the day of the competition). We all worship arnold & Stallole but cannot even remember our own countrymen who have done us proud despite variuos hardships under abject poverty.

Hi, Yes there is lack of awareness in Body building in India. These days people wants maximum results in minimum eforts and body building is getting a bad name for it. Taking supplements or steroids is quite common and thats y a lot of youngsters needs to be educated that natural health is the best one. Though i follow body builders like Ronnie coleman and Arnold i also follow Indian body builders as well. Prem chand, Manohar Aich and a other body buiders here have wonderful physique and recntly a guy from Mumbai was nominated in the MR. Universe as well . Cheers, Tutul
