mouse pad

I usually do not use a mouse pad having gotten really tired with nylon matts that curl up on the edges. My son was home for Holiday from school this past month and he brought his mouse pad with him.... so I had been using it. I got spoiled on it and am sure I am going to miss it. It is heavy duty made from aluminum, one side is textured for precision and the other for speed and should last indefinately... I guess it is geared towards gamers. His mouse pad is by Razer and is really sharp looking. He says I need to try his mouse someday and then I will never want to go back to my wireless. The only trouble with his mousepad (given the season we are in) is that it is so cold to the touch... I suppose, though, that I would welcome this dilema in the summer. Do you use a mouse pad? is it a special type or one of the matts? does it have any images on it? how often do you replace your mouse pad?

Hey, Before I was using this really crummy mouse pad that made my wrist all hurt. Because I stay hours and hours on the computer my wrist kinda gets all read because it rests on the hard mouse pad. So what I did, was buy a Gel Wrist Rest, which reduces fatigue when you are using your mouse. It is bascially like an ordinary round mouse pad but it has this soft cusion thingy that is really soft to touch and it allows your wrist to enjoy comfort. Now I can literally stay hours and hours on my computer without my wrist ever hurting. I don't think I will replace my mousepad any time soon, only unless the cushion stuff starts to go flat just like normal cushions if you stay on them for too long!

i haven't used a mousepad in years. i have a top rolling marble mouse-the old style was causing me pain in my hand-this one doesn't do that at all. usually all my old pad had on it was dirty kitty footies from bad kitties sitting on it

I have used the same mousepad since I got my first computer....it was given to me by a friend and it's edges are curled. It has a picture of two little tigers on it and I love it. I have tried a couple of others that I don't really like....some that are harder.....so for right now I'll keep the one I have! LOL

I've been using an ergonomic wrist rest mouse pad for years.. it's best for regular computer users like me.. it is designed to provide comfort and support for wrist.. and sustains wrist posture.. i don't have plans of replacing my wrist rest mouse as it's been helping me to alleviate hand stress..

nowadays , you don't need a mousepad. i don't like mousepads ever since, it is a good thing the mouses can now crawl without it. i find it easier to use the mouse without a mouse pad because i can move the mouse anywhere without a glitch.

Yes, I do have a mousepad. It is of a thick substance and it stays where ever I put it down. It has a gorilla on it. And I usually don't use a mousepad but this one is so nice that I just couldn't pass getting it. When this one is worn out I probably won't get another one.

Hi Modestah, I think I know what type of mouse pad you are talking about. They are not cheap but I don't really need them. There is no program I am using that requires high precision. But one thing I have to agree - they look gorgeous. So no, I don't use a mouse pad. I just slid the mouse on my table and it is quite obvious I have done a bit of sliding (coss my table is wood and the mouse region obviously looks worn out).

I agree. They look really sharp, but, if you are not needing precision accuracy they are not necessary

The mousepad we have isn't new but it's being used now as before it wasn't being used. Well not recently anyway. It's just plain, an image on it and textured. The image is of The Outer Banks of the state I reside, North Carolina. I like a mousepad more then just a plain surface, although the surface that the monitor sits on is smooth, so I guess it wouldn't matter. We switched it out a few times, not sure why the first time as I wasn't the one to switch it. I think it was old or something. We had the type with the wrist rest but my fiance's father ketp moving it so we have this one out now.

I used to have a mouse pad that was a bit nice, but then the edges curled and it started looking worn out. So I threw it out and used the free ones that software companies that Microsoft hand out. Anyway, I just use a piece of paper as a mouse pad now. I find it very useful because I can scribble down stuff on the paper. I change my paper "mousepad" once a week.

It has been long since I have used mouse pads. The practice of using mouse pads is decreasing day by day. You will hardly see people using mouse pads these days. Now I see innovative mouse pads wherein to support your hand there is a elevation. These ones are really comfortable and you can try it also.

Hmmmm.. I do not use mousepad nowadays since my mouse itlself is a laser sensor one. Mouse pad is not necessary anymore and I can use my mouse without having any problems. I used mouse pad before when I'm still using a scroll mouse and I often replace it. The most was every other month. I'm so thankful that laser sensor mouse was invented.
