Are hand washed clothes cleaner than machine washed clothes?

I find that with the foray of washing machines, most of us have stopped washing clothes with hand. Most households have washing machines and dump all their clothes into the washing machine, switch on the button and then forget. If they could help it they would ask the machine to put the clothes out in the sun to dry as well. I find that machine washed clothes do not come out as bright and clean as hand washed clothes. i always wash my under clothing by hand when I go for a bath and find that my white vest shines more than my white shirts which are washed in the washing machine. Do you wash all your clothes in the washing machine or do you hand wash a few important clothes?

yeah my friend noticed that too. Having your laundry done by washing machine definitely makes the white ones not as bright as hand washed whites.
I guess this also depends on the type of detergent those laundry shops use. Most of the shops are not aware of this so they just buy whatever detergent powder available to clean the clothes.

Here in the Philippines hand washing is pretty common. Some people actually prefer just hiring somebody to hand wash their clothes for them. Personally though, I still do machine wash since I don't have time to do hand wash. Clothes that get easily damages or anything that has tough stain definitely needs to be hand washed.

i dont feel as if hand washed clothes are as clean.. but i only have a few articles i hand wash and those i usually dont wear much or get dirty so its ok.. but if i had to hand wash everything i would go nuts since i dont feel as if anything is as clean as it could be cleaned otherwise

I do wash some of my clothes with my hands i think the mashine goes faster but it does not wash as clean as the hand wash. Another thing when i put jeans in the mashine i still have to brush the foot of the jeans. But it lets you in quicker than the hand wash. Thats just my views thanks.
