Kids For An Absentminded Mom

God, in his wisdom, gave me children that make up for what I am deficient in. One is a go-getter take action kind of girl who knows what she wants and goes after it. She's not afraid to try new things, fail and try again. The perfect daughter for a mom who is often wary about trying something new. One with a photographic memory for a mom who has a hard time remembering peoples names but can come up with the most obscure trivia game answers. She knows my car license tag number. She even remembers her sister wheeling her around in the stroller! My son, who I tell people is my walking map. I don't need no stinkin' GPS! He can find anything, anywhere even if he's never been there. Maybe I should rent him out. So those are my amazing kids who make up for what I lack. Tell me, what do your kids make up for in your life?

Dropping by to say that you are a very lucky mom! I'm not a mom but hearing your kind of story makes mom-life sound exciting and rewarding (in terms of adventure and love). I often hear moms worry and stuff, I like hearing the good stories every now and then. I think my mom got about the same things with us kids - I'm the one who got most of her characteristics. Everything except being forgetful. I have a weird memory - not really photographic, I just remember the small details better than the big picture. Then I have a sister who compensated for my mom's (and mine) lack of talent in public speaking and in literary writing. Then a brother who has the most entertaining humor - which was a good compliment because my mom has the most beautiful laughter :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

You're so welcome and thanks for reading this post. I thought it was an interesting topic when I wrote it and I hoped someone would respond. Took awhile but I'm glad someone did. I'm a sponge when it comes to weird facts. The weirder, the more likely I am to remember it. I forget names but I still remember all the phone numbers I had as a kid.
