girly ribbing

Theres this guy I know, he runs a store near where I used to work, we got on fairly well and whenever I went into his store or he came into mine, I would make fun of him for being old or bald or useless, he knew I didnt really mean it, it was just "friendly banter". One of my sisters said that it was just plain rude, and that even if he let me say rude things to him, he shouldnt say things to me! WTF? If I couldnt take it, I wouldnt give it out! The fact that he fires it back also means that he knows I was kidding in the first place. Do you have someone you do that to? Make fun of them even though you kind of like 'em? Are they allowed to say stuff back to you? Or would you get in a sissy hissy pissy fit like my lame arsed sister would?

I use to have a few friends I could do this with when I lived up north. But have yet to get that close to anyone since I moved. I try to joke with my husband that way. But he gets really mad at me. Not sure why as we use to be able to joke like that. So0, I no longer joke with anyone. It is not worth the hasssle.

Yeah, my sense of humor runs toward teasing once I get to know you and you know me. My wife and I tease each other unmercifully all the time. (she usually wins) My daughters get teased. And at times my friends and co-workers get blasted. But they all know that I am only teasing them and that I only tease those I know can 'take it' without offense. They also know that I only tease those that I really like and respect. When my daughters or wife does something that is rather dumb, I can't resist telling them that under the scalp is blonde roots. Or look in their ear and proclaim that they have their "This space for rent" sign posted again! When my daughters tease me about getting old, I tell them that if they keep it up I going to go out and spend their inheritance. (or beat them with my cane!) But then my wife will pipe up, saying, "Oh, great! We get to go out and get Happy Meals at McDonald's!" You just got to have humor in your life in order to deal life's misgivings.
