I have been using Paypal for several years without any problems - no identity theft, no funds missing from my bank account or credit card. Paypal is very safe. What you have to look out for is people POSING as Paypal, emailing you about some item or another that you supposedly bought, asking you to verify your information for them. Those emails, which are not from Paypal, but say they are, are phishing for your information so that they CAN gain access to your account. I've gotten maybe three in the four years I've used Paypal, and I double-checked the sender and the Paypal website as well as my own account, and was able to discern that they were scams. But that's the ONLY problem I've had. Paypal itself is great.

I have been a member of paypal for about 6 years now & have handled quite a few transactions with them & Have never had any issues what so ever with them. They are the number one trusted payment method through ebay & quite a few other websites. Just make sure when you go to paypal.com in the url address bar it says https://www.paypal.com/ if the "s" is not after the http BEWARE!

I have only used paypal for about 6 months, but I have not had any problems with them at all. If it makes you feel any better, they do have an actual office building in Omaha, Nebraska. I happened to find that out while I was traveling around Thanksgiving. I know that it made me feel better to know that they do have an office building and are not just run out of someone's basement.
