Do you put the APPROPRIATE tags in mylot?

Where I find there are very few tags, or no tags as such, I put some, But if there are already 20 tags for a single discussion, then I skip the page to a the tag. I don't think there has to be unlimited tags for a single discussion. Some relevant 10-15 tags can easily help spotting a topic.

Well some people are really bored. Or they have a funny bone and can't help but play these kinds of pranks on other people. I don't tag discussions at all, I just wait for other people to do it. :) Maybe if there are inappropriate tags then mylot should allow discussion starters to add and remove existing tags just so that their discussions are filed properly.

haha.. I dun really like to put tags.. I only have tags when i only i'm gonna return to that particular post again, because it will always be prompting me to input tags.. haha =D Plus most of the time i will have tags related to my respond instead of the post.. lol =D Anyway, having the right tags wont ensure that i will find the right post too.. hehe

Yep! Usually when I cannot think of a single tag, I would just press the skip button and skip the entire thing altogether. Even when I do put in tags, I would just put in a one word tag, for example in your discussion, I would just copy your discussion title and put the tag as "tags". Lol I am just that lazy. However, many people will try to put in as many tags as possible as there was some sort of rumours floating about Mylot some months back. And that is that Mylot is also paying us for putting tags in our discussions and responses. I have no idea who started that rumour, but then a lot of people (newbies) fell for it and sometimes, they just put in the darnest words that one could ever find just for the sake of earning that payment! (Just for the records, it's not true!) Some will try to cram in as many tags as possible, some related to what the discussion is about, some not related at all in a bid to get their discussion noticed by other Mylotters. This is because the search function of Mylot will search the tags of every discussion and present those discussions as what the searcher is searching for. So for instance, that discussion which is non food related but has a tag of food. If someone were to type food in the searchbox, this particular discussion will then turn up as one of the discussion the searcher might be interested to respond in. That's all that's to it. i am with you in this campaign. you have said it right. appropriate. that's the word. and it should make sense. anyway, mylot admin will not put that feature just for nothing, right? we should follow and put the appropriate tags. happy mylotting Ysabel. i like the way you spell your name. =)

I really care about putting my appropriate tags. I just SKIP button, and putting something in my tag. Yes, i agree with you.

I did not check on other tags, it must be funny to find some weird tags that are not relevant to the discussions at all. I always put appropriate tags when I post any responses or discussions, it will be relevant to my response or the discussion topic. As tags are for easier search, I think it'll be good if we put something appropriate.

Hi there Ysabel, Yes tags its very important. i t may help us to gain more responder than without tags. It automatically record you discussion in the section you want. Some also writing un-appropriate tags in mine, but i don't care the more i have tags the more people saw my discussions. You spelled it out right! I usually put tags to my started discussions since I hated it when someone do the tagging either a very long phrase or no sense at all ! I do tag someone's discussion with usually a single word referring to the topic at hand, I tried to make it concise and to my knowledge tagging could help the thread starter but definitely not the intent of messing it.

Yes, I try to put appropriate tags to the discussions which are there on my lot. Appropriate tags let you know the crux of the discussion. So it is really important to put proper tags.

Yes, i do.. in fact, i'm used to putting tags as i've been blogging for so many years.. you know, tags are searchable by search engine so it's best if you place appropriate tags..

I put that tags only for my discussions. I don't put tags on my response. Unless and untill I put a tag on my discussion, I feel that discussion is not complete. I can't see my discussion wtihout tags. The tags also should be appropriate. If I was the owner of this discussion, I would have used, "Tags", "mylot", "Valid" as my tags for this discussion. Hi Ysabel! Well, I consider putting TAGS as an important feature here in mylot. So everytime I make a reply, I do put the appropriate tags and I never skip one. I also put as much tags as I can, but again, these are really appropriate tags based on the topics being discussed and I put the proper ones. Cheers! :)

I totally agree with you that you should put the appropriate tags. I mean like you said why put a tag on something that doesn't match. I haven't seen anything like that yet.

When I start my own discussion I do put appropriate tags to it. But when it comes to response to a discussion, I don't put tags as takes time and I am always running out of it.

Yes we have to give tags because tags helps others to find out discussions. The more tags we give the best the other readers find our discussion so it is always advisable to give more and more tags but i feel we should give tags related to our discussions because if we just give some words others may not like our discussion and they may not feel it relavent.

Yesh.. i put tags as appropriate as i can.. sometime i put in just one tag for such laziness the we normal people have. am still new to this so everyday is a learning process. ^_^ have a nice day!!

I only put the tags when i make a discussion, but answering just like this....nah. It´s like wasting time.
