I am still a card player. Although I have not yet found many people that still play as well. My daughter and I play cribbage quite a bit and we really enjoy doing this. But I think that my favorite card game is rummy 500. I am hoping to find more people to play with one day. My grandma taught me how to play cards and I will teach my kids.

I would much rather play card and board games over video games too. Now that my boys are getting older (twins almost 8, and the older boy almost 10), I am finally able to have decent "games nights". Our plan is to have them on Saturday nights. We got a slew of new games from Santa this year, so that will help us greatly (I was getting tired of snakes and ladders and trouble all of the time lol). One of my favourite card games is euchre too. But I haven't had enough people to play with in years, so am VERY out of practice. I'll have to teach my sons, since it'd be perfect, as we are a family of four. :D I also really like the card game "Skip Bo"... by the makers of "Uno". And I like to play rummoli, which also involves cards and poker hands.

Sadly with the age of technology, everyone is interested in the latest video games, Wii, Nintendo and Playstations etc. Board games are becoming less of an interest and although they still sell them I can't see them lasting much longer. I love card games and I used to go to a Whist Drive to play cards, but sadly even that has stopped now. I do play cards on line with other players but it's not the same on the computer, I like to hand the cards in my hand not on screen. I used to play cards with my family at Christmas and board games like Monopoly. The good old days eh! Technology is not always a good thing.

Well it is true that youngsters this days are more playing video games than board games. The only card games they play in on the net, like poker or solitaaire...
