The calendar has turned and I'm already looking ahead to the anticipated albums ready to drop in the new year. It's looking like 2009 could be the year of Shady Aftermath with 50 Cent reworking himself after a sales battle loss to Kanye West, the return of Eminem and raps version of Chinese Democracy, Dr. Dre's Detox. There is a lot riding on these three albums so you know Shady Aftermath will pull no strings in an attempt to make them out to be a greatest hits album. It's back to basics for these three and spokespeople for the company claim "There will be no soulja boy hits with these records, it's back to the lyrical professionalism that put the rap/hip-hop genre back on the map." As much as I enjoy the club hits and the fresh beats I cannot wait to get a taste of what first peeked my interest in this genre and that's the hit em where it hurts lyrical geneious of Em and Dre. 2009: Year of the Aftermath? I think so.

umm 50 only does club hits so will be interesting to see, but honestly i dont think he has the selling power he had, big mistake trying to beef with Mr West then Lil Wayne. Then saying he would quit then he would out do everyone and blah blah blah, oh and only one hit song came off the last cd, as opposed to the usual 5-6. Shaddy and Dre, well they will sell, being away for a while had probably been good for Em, and Dre always does albums every 5 years or so... Ill check out both before buying though. in my book all out there have a long way to go to get back to real lyrical content like we got in the 90's. I was listening to God's Son the other day and decided to go back to illimatic. put that up against the best of most of todays artist and all u get is rubish on the curb of the mansion..ok NaS rant over...
