Haggling on e-bay

e-bay, like any other marketplace allows for the ability to haggle with sellers over price. Despite terms like "Fixed Price" and "auction" it is oftem possible to get the product for less than the listed price, or convince a seller to ship for free. As I discovered in the article below, there is a whole underworld of e-bay haggling. Has anyone tried this? met with any success? See article below.

I have to admit that I've never even contemplated haggling, I've been on Ebay since 2003 and I've always paid the set price, it's only recently that I was bidding on an Ipod that it had 'offer price' which I had never come across before the price was listed but you could enter a reasonable offer and the seller could accept it. I think that is a brilliant idea, but I like your idea better, who would think to haggle? Not many I am sure, thanks
