I am wanting to download a timer so my computer will shut itself off at a certain time of day. Any recommendations of software for this?

Yes, there are many such softwares. Most of them are freeware. I have tried a software called "Auto Shut Down".. Its good.. worth giving a try!

I do not know of any, but I did find this site http://www.drivermagician.com/autoshutdown/ there are a couple of others, but there was a warning not to go to those sites as it is dangerous. You can also get the AMP WinOFF 4.21 which is free from NONAGS. http://www.nonags.com/software.asp?ID=2941 i do not know if it works on Vista. I hope these will help.

NO I think no software needed for this task if you need it for power saving, just set your power setting (monitor power, Hard disk power and sytem standby)from desktoppropertiesscreen saver power when you needed. If you only need to be shut down your pc then try a scheduler to do that.
