work when my daughter is sick. her dad says he can't take time off work, but then two days later he takes a day off to relax. then the next week a day off to go shopping. then when she is sick again he says he can't take time off work. i don't ever take days off unless she's sick and i don't have any days to take, he has holliday day's and personal days to take. i don't get how he thinks it's fair

I hate to say it but her father is being very irresponsible and selfish, its his child too and he need to care for her when she is sick. You can't be both parents for her he needs to do his part, talk to him and see if the two of you need to take turns looking after her when she is ill. Good luck I hope you work this out

Well, you can personally talk to the folks and and clear out the air. Another thing would be to actually not take your days off when the need comes. That may make themselves available since they'd know that they wouldn't have much choice. It doesn't sound like a good idea, but then again, it would make them realize their responsibility even more.
