Another sickly kitten :(

I took in another sickly kitten yesterday. People down the road from me let their female cat have litter after litter this past summer. Now the babies are starving and freezing. It breaks my heart. I don't know what I am going to do with this little girl. I have her locked in the bathroom away from my other cats so they don't get sick from her. If any of you live in northeast Ohio and would like a pretty little long-haired tiger, please contact me. I am even willing to get her spayed for you. We are not rich; I know where to get a discount coupon. I am already way over my limit, we have 7 pet cats now, all fixed of course, but still. I cannot keep this newest one. I am having enough trouble supporting them.

You are a wonderful person to take in yet another cat that needs shelter. I wish there were more people like you rather then those who turn their heads not realizing what a kind heart can do for an animal all alone. Your neighbor really needs to do something to have her female cat fixed so no more kittens are born and left without homes. I would try to get in touch with one of the non-profit animal (cat) places in your area to see if they can not only help your neighbor get her cat fixed but, if they can also help you find a great home for the kitten that you have taken in.

The guy that supposedly owns the cat, I have never met him. My neighbor on the left told me the guy in the blue car owns that cat. I am pretty sure she is feral by now. When I come out the door, she runs. All the other strays run up to me! LOL Just what I need. I am thinking about trapping her and getting her spayed myself, but we are short on cash right now. Property taxes are coming up and we are on a fixed income. My husband says we should just start cat-napping female cats and fixing them. It would be nice if the Humane Society would help ME. I stopped sending them money because they won't help me come up with a solution HERE. Giving to charity is nice and all, but now I need freaking charity! *********************************************** Oh, and DreamweaverJan, that comment above is hilarious- "sudennly had 8 or 10 legs " ROFLMAO !!!!! How did I miss that? hee hee You are too funny!

Feral cats can turn around. They just need the right person with the right love. Although it is hard, I have seen it happen before. Not being used to the human touch makes a cat feral but it is never too late for them to learn. I am a stray magnet too. It is like they know I am the one that will feed then, find them shelter, etc. Although I cannot have anymore animals, I do manage to find a place for them to stay until a more permanent home can be found for them. It's not the Humane Society that I am referring to. Every state has non profit animals places (the people do the work out of their homes) that take in strays and find new homes for them. They are no kill shelters. I can try and help you find such a place in your area if you need help, just let me know where you live.

Thanks for the good wishes! This kitten is so sweet! When I go into the room, I pet her and she purrs like mad. She is really sick so she starts sneezing and blowing snot all over me! It is so gross but she is so freaking happy, I have to laugh! I'm going to give her a couple days to try to fight off the cold so if her sinuses dont clear out soon, I will have to take her to my vet. $$$$$$$ !!!

AWWW Shawna: You are a kind soul, so wonderful of you to do that for this kitty; It breaks my heart too about poor animals left alone , people abandon them all the time; There is a momma cat here where I live and she had kitten this summer, found homes for the two little black kitty's she had and I know she is due anytime again, she is as wild as they come but she is letting me feed her I can sorta touch her now but sure can't pick her up or hold her or catch her but wish I could to find her a home or do something with her; I certainly cannot afford to have her fixed, but would love to find her a home before she has kittens again...ARrgghh!! Good luck to you I hope you find this kitten a home; keep us posted!!

That is so cool that you were able to find homes for them! Have you heard of the Trap, Neuter, Release program for wild feral cats? You can use a humane trap to catch the momma, then take her to get fixed, then release her back in your neighborhood. I don't know where you live but if you check with the humane society, maybe they can point you in the right direction. I have been trying to get my city to put the program in motion, sent letters to the paper and talked to some people. I learned about it from Alley Cat Allies. I wish I could trap this neighbor's cat, but I don't want to get arrested or sued for cat-napping! LOL I found the coupon place online for $30 spay coupons by searching "low cost spay and neuter" and the name of my county, city, whatever. It took some time searching, but hey, $30 is a fantastic price!

HI Shawna: No, I've not called them to see about a trap, I know they bring the traps here to capture the raccoons that run rampart over there , there are raccoons here that are HUGE, REALLY REALLY HUGE... This time of year the humane society does give a big discount for spaying and neutering until like March or April that's how I got all of my pets done, by doing it this time of year, saved LOTS of money this way..(G)!! but yeah I might have to look into that, she's such a nice cat as I said she is getting calmer and I can pet her but the two times I've tried to pick her up she just FREAKED OUT...had like 8 or 10 legs suddenly...LOL!! CRazy Cat!!
