Text Lingo Changes????

I was texting with my 11 year old daughter last night and I responded to one of her messages with LOL (Laughing Out Loud). She responded and told me that, that was old school. None of the kids are using LOL any more.
So I asked, what has taken the place of LOL and she responded HaHaHa. OK they can't change the text lingo, I have a hard enough time keeping up with it as it is. This is so not fair!
What are your thoughts.

Well, i guess the era of your kid is much different than your era. I mean that's their interpreration of her age group that they used to use than what your age group used to used. But your kid is cool huh?! That means your kid was belong to a certain group that has the same interest she has.

LOL - I guess I'm old school too! HaHaHa seems too much to type I thought the point of "text lingo" was to shorten words. Oh wait a lot of cell phones have key boards now I wonder if thats why they changed it. Its just funny to sit here and talk about this to me. I remember when I was 11 I didn't have any thing not a cell or pager - nothing. When I was 13 I got a pager and that was SOOOO cool LOL! Its funny to think of what my now 2 year old will have when she is 11 12 or 13!

I am not into all those short codes text lingo, I type everything out. I know my nieces and nephews must hate it - oh well guess I am as they say - old school, old fashioned, ancient, antique & over the hill.
