Satnav/GPS Tales wanted!

Do you have a GPS/Satnav Unit in your car? Has it ever taken you off into the wild when you've asked it to take a Shortcut? I'd accidentally set mine on the "Shortest route" setting this evening on the way home,and a more rutted or potholed excuse for a goat track it was never my misfortune to follow...Once I realised how bad it was getting (Grass betwen the ruts!) there was nowhere to turn around or go back-one time it told me to take the next left,and I found myself looking at a farm gate! I wouldn't have considered that road on my own if I'd been out hiking-even a mountain bike would have been chancy! I'd heard horror stories of truck drivers using these things and getting trapped in rural lanes by tunnels formed by overhanging tree branches..so..be honest..has it happened to You,and tell all!
