Do/did any of your children use the pacifier?

When my daughter was a baby, she would, more or less, have nothing to do with the pacifier. I figured that was just one less thing I'd have to train her off of. My son definitely uses it, and I'm glad of it. There were times that it was the only way to get him to stop crying. He doesn't use it all the time, but I'm happy for the times that he does. BOW TO THE ALL MIGHTY BINKIE!!

My son used a binky for the longest time. He loved his and did not want to be without it at all for a long time, then it went to just to sleep. My daughter used hers for 7 months. She gave it up cold turkey. She had a cold and could not breathe with it in her mouth. I just never gave it back after her cold was gone.

My son really hasn't been since except for maybe a little bit of a runny nose, but that's about it. Guess that things not going to come out that way. lol

Neither of my kids wanted anything to do with a pacifier. My youngest did have a finger though and that was HORRIBLE to break him of. At least with a pacifier you can throw it out!

All three of my kids had pacifiers and they all gave it up before the age of one. I'm firmly believe some kids need to get the "suck" out of their systems. About every kid I've ever seen, whose mom I've heard brag how they weaned them from the bottle at the age of four months (yeah, right)constantly has fingers in mouth or is chewing on something like the collar of their shirt. I know there are exception, but there ain't that many!

I have 4 kids and my oldest and youngest would have nothing to do with a pacifier. My oldest would take it and then spit it out after a few minutes. My youngest would get so mad if you even tried to give it to her. I had twins in between them and they LOVED them!!!! They are 9 now and I think if we hadn't slowly weaned them off of them that they might still have them. My Mom says that I used a pacifier until I was about 7...I kind of remember it. I always figured if they needed a pacifier or blanket then give it to them...if it calms them and makes them feel better then there is a reason they need it. You don't see (rarely) adults walking around with a pacifier in their mouth...babies will give them up when they are ready.

I never used pacifiers for my kids. They always sucked their thumbs, but only when they were going to sleep. My Grandson has a pacifier but hardly ever uses it.

None of my children would use a pacifier. They would literally spit them across the room! My daughter was a thumb sucker though, and that was a nightmare to break her of. I wish she would have used the pacifier because I could have gotten rid of them along with her bottle.Couldn't very well throw away her thumb!LOL
