There will be NO lobbyists in the Obama administration!

During his campaign, Obama declared: "I have done more to take on lobbyists than any other candidate in this race. I don't take a dime of their money, and when I am president, they won't find a job in my White House." http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/11/12/obama_softens_ban_on_hiring_lobbyists/ Anyone else remember that load of crap? Where are all the democrats that criticized McCain for having former lobbyists on his team? Are you guys at all angry with Obama for breaking yet another campaign promise or are you making excuses like "Well that lobbyist was the best person for the job?" I for one am not surprised at all. He broke multiple promises during the race and I fully expected him to break this promise. Obama picks defense lobbyist as deputy defense secretary http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/01/08/obama-appointments-include-defense-lobbyist-as-deputy-secretary/ Daschle has been a highly paid adviser to healthcare clients at the law and lobbying firm Alston & Bird. http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/obama_daschle_lobbying/2008/11/20/153406.html

As I stated, I am not surprised in the least. I really want to see the reactions of those who used this as a point to attack McCain for his involvement with lobbyists. Many acted as though Obama was some knight in shining armor who would change Washington by keeping lobbyists out. I want to see and hear their reactions to this.

well, 4 days and still not one response from any of his supporters. I expected at least one or two attempts at least by now.

I really wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not. It bugs me because this isn't a smear, or an opinion, or something that has nothing to do with his job. It's a simple fact that he made that promise and it's a fact that he broke it. It was a recurring theme throughout his entire campaign and the people he appoints are critical in the operation of our government. Oh well...

Thanks, for posting this. It could help those infatuated with 0bama. By itself, it won't convince them, but in combination with everything else, it is pushing them in the right direction.

Unfortunately this the absence of any liberals on this thread is further proof that they will continue to bury their heads in the sand and ignore anything that isn't glowing praise of the messiah.

As time goes on I think we shall see more broken campaign promises as it seems "campaign promises" are a special category of promises which are meant to be broken as the promiser has no intention of honoring them but were only used as a ploy to garnish votes.

Campaign promises are always broken to some extent. As citizens and voters, it is OUR job to call the presidents on it when that happens. I'm sure you remember in 1992 when George H.W. Bush was put through the ringer for his "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES". I think it was an impossible promise to keep and one that most people expected to be broken, but he made it and he was criticized for not keeping it. Obama broke multiple promises even before he got elected and has proceeded to break more even before he takes office. I would think people would be a bit more concerned since this was promise which he reiterated throughout his campaign over and over again, while bashing McCain for failing to make the same promise.

Funny, I haven't seen a single one of his supporters in here yet,not suprised, this is pretty unspinnable, but I'm sure eventualy some one will try. can't wait to see it, should be funny. I'm sure somehow your just not giving him a chance or something.

I expect one token liberal to respond while the rest ignore it and hope it disappears. That's been pretty typical when he's caught in a bold faced lie.
