Am I the only one that takes a song and makes my own lyrics?

I'm goofy most of the time. If I hear a song, you betcha I'm going to sing it all funnily. I think right now my favorite one to sing all funnily too is... I'm a country boy I got a four wheel drive, yea that song... well I've sung it funny but not really changed the lyrics on that one... Sometimes though I'm not creative so I'll take an already parodied song and change like one word... Did I shave my legs (or back) to did I shave my rear, instead? lol... So do you change the lyrics like this, or sing it in a funny fashion? Can you tell I'm a country fan?

No, I do it all of the time. This is because that I cannot remember the lyrics so I make them up! and sometimes they sound better too. Blessings

I know what you mean, sometimes a good song is made better by editing of words, lol. I appreciate the response.

I think it's a great memory and the singer didn't seem to mind. I am sure the whole audience really thought it was special.

Actually, it can get embarrassing. I made up words to a local song to my 3 sons who were 3, 4 & %5years old. We went out one day to a concert and to my horror my 3 boys climbed onto the stage and told the singer that he was singing the wrong words!!! They stopped the concert and then sang my stupidness into the microphone. This wqs an unforgettable moment - I wanted to crawl away - especially when the singer invited me in the stage to sing my 'version'. I blush at the memory.

I can't. I want to but I can't and I actually envy people who are so clever with tunes and lyrics :P I'm glad you're having fun with the lyrics, I think it's more of a talent than a skill that anyone else could learn because I know I've tried hard :P Thanks for the response on my discussion!

The things I do say or sing in my lyrics or parodies are sometimes so silly, and not thought out, so there's no reason to envy me. I'm sure you've come up with some clever ones you just haven't given yourself credit for!

I know what you mean about forgetting parts of the lyrics, although sometimes I'll combine two songs by accident because they sound so similar that it's hard to remember what lyric goes with what song. I'll be sure to check out your myspace profile. I appreciate the response.

You're not the only one. I have a friend who almost always likes to translate some good songs into goofy lyrics in our local language. Sometimes it's funny but when he pokes fun at my favorite songs that's where I don't find it funny at all. Lol.

Oh that must be fun! Translating songs into goofy lyrics, especially since some songs just have a great back beat to make the song even sillier then it already is. I appreciate the response.

No way I do that ALL the time. I'm famous for it with my friends and family! I made up the "Yank Your Doodle Song", "Hunky-Punky", "Dirty Diaper Beat Down", I have hundreds. lol I love doing that, it makes everyone laugh and I get to be creative and funny which is always a plus. Great Discussion =)

Glad I am not alone in the funny songs! It is such a good way to make others laugh (and yourself)...
