I do have A LOT of VHS. I won't even start on which ones because I'd be here all night. I have a lot of Disney movies and other kids movies.

Hello apples99 My kids have a few but I will be getting rid of them soon and buying them on dvd as it is such a much better format! I hate the big bulky video and dvd palyer that is in my son's room and will be getting rid of it as soon as I buy another dvd player! Trouble is that my kids seem to think that as soon as a dvd gets stuck they need to bang the dvd palyer and has got nothing to do with their sticky fingers all over the disk, don't get that with VHS do ya? LOL

Yes, I've got quite alot. Most I bought from thrift stores. My VCR is old and run down and can barely play any of them. One actually plays perfectly, an old "Fawlty Towers" VHS featuring "Gourmet Night", "Waldorf Salad" &c. I have watched it endlessly and yet laugh every time! I've thought of taking my VCR in to be repaired. Mind you, my DVD player doesn't work too well either. Still, there's always my beloved PC.

My dad has a lot of VHS tapes and most of them are western movies like the naked spur, the wagon..etc and also some rocky rambo movies. I don't own any and even my dad he does nor watch those these days as we don't have the player anymore. The DVDs and CDs are replacing but i think the durability of VHS tapes are not comparable even if their size are bulky.

I used to have so many VHS tapes, when I was a kid, as that was the only way for me to watch movies. I could only watch movies that were on VHS tapes, on a VHS player, obviously. However, now, I really only buy DVD's, because my fiance and I only own a DVD player. And I can only watch DVDs on my computer. It is for those reasons that I buy DVD and not VHS tapes.

I would have to say that I have over 750 VHS movies. I have most of the Disney movies like hercules, 101 dalmations and so on. I also have alot of the Stephen King movies like thinner, carrie, salems lot and so on. Then there are the comedies and dramas. There are way to many to list here. I have also started my DVD collection in which I probably have over 300 of those ranging from kids to drama, comedy and of course Stephen King. I am very much a movie addict and buy them whenever I can.

Yes, I do. I have all the old Disney favorites like the Herbie the Love Bug, Cinderella, Snow White, etc. I have most of them boxed up since we watch dvd's most of the time now. Grrr.

I still do own VHS tapes, and I even have a lot of blank tapes recorded with things I taped in the past, but my mom's VHS movie collection is in two places: her bedroom dresser, and the VHS shelves in the living room. However, I got my brand-new DVD/VHS recorder that lets me transfer my VHS tapes to DVDs so that they'll be preserved on my discs and my hard drives. That way, I can make a lot more space and make room for other things I have in my room since i'm a packrat though.

No I do not own VHS tapes. When these tapes were used, we didn't have any VHS player at home. To view a movie we had to rent a player. That is why we never bought tape of our own. When we rented a player, we rented the required movies with it. Nowadays they have become obsolete, and we have to use DVDs.

We still have hundreds of vhs tapes with no plans to get rid of them. In fact, we are still buying them. We are buying dvds too. Our movie collection is pretty hugh. I have thought about getting a recorder that will allow us to copy vhs to dvd. Any who, we really love watching movies again, and again, and again....

I still have a few of those good old VHS tapes! They are becoming very outdated now but I still have some of my favourite movies on those tapes! What do I do about these? Can I make copies and change the format, like copy the movies to writable dvds? This sounds like a complex task. Anyway, I guess dvds are a whole lot easier to store! Andrew

Hey apples99 I too have a lot of VHS. Since VHS is going out of favor a lot of them hit the pawn shops and they sell them for just a dollar a piece. I'll probably have them until there are no more vcr's to be had to play them. I have way too many to list but a couple that I have that I don't think are even on DVD are "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" "Wait Until Dark" and "Trench Coat" BTW you mentioned the movie Small Sacrifices. That happened right here in my neck of the woods. Diane Downs was up for parole just last month. She didn't get it and she probably never will. I met Christie Downs once. She grew up to be a beautiful and fine young lady.
