Every parent has probably been woken up by their child during the night at some point, and I don't mean by a baby for a feeding.
How has your child woken you up during the night?
My older kids haven't woken me up in awhile, it's usually the babies. But I do remember a time a few years ago when my oldest woke me up because he had an ear ache.
I was in a very deep sleep and never heard him make a sound. I don't remember how he woke me up, but I remember I opened my eyes and he was standing right beside me, with his face right in front of mine. It scared me because I didn't hear him make any noise, and I didn't remember him touching me at all. I don't know how long he was standing there trying to wake me up.
Have your children ever scared you like that in the middle of the night?

Half the time my kids won't come wake me up. They will just lay in bed crying till I hear them. My daughter had a bad dream one night last week. She just laid there and cried. I heard her pretty much right away because I've become a light sleeper after 3 kids. I went over and held her a minute and calmed her and then she went right back to sleep. Our youngest was sleeping through the night for the most part but lately he's been waking up in the middle of the night. So I sleep lightly listening for him all night. The only time they usually come get me is if they have to throw up. Our 3 year old will come tell me and then we'll run to the bathroom together. Our 6 year old used to come get me but now I've taught her to just go throw up and that I will hear her and come help her out. They have both scared me like that at some point though.

Mine don't usually wake me up either. They don't get sick very often, and if they have bad dreams they usually can calm themselves down. A couple days ago my 6 yr old son told me he'd had a bad dream, but he didn't tell me till morning. The last time any of them got sick it was while I was still awake and in the living room. Unfortunatly they didn't tell me in time to get them to the bathroom.

Yes, my daughter woke me up one night trying to get in the bed with me when she was very little, not much taller than the top of my mattress. When I realized she was trying to get in beside me, I went to raise up and she hit me in the eye with her head. I ended up with a black eye!

My son does that ALL the time. He will just come into our room and just stand at the side (usually my side) of the bed. Scares the crap outta me! He is 2 and a half.

When I get woken in the middle of the night, it's normally because my eldest has a nosebleed. When he gets them, it's always in the early hours of the morning when I'm least able to cope with blood!
It's normally him switching the light on that wakes me, though he's pretty careful these days as he knows that if he wakes the little one we'll all be awake for the rest of the night.

my son wakes me up almost nightly whining in his sleep or fighting in his sleep. Usually he wakes me up when he comes to get in the bed with me. most of the time i do not remember him getting in bed with me i just wake up and he is there.
