What do you use to make your beats? What do you do with them?

I use fruity loops, mainly. My only real goal in making music, is making something my partner can really get into. He is my main inspiration. People have approached me to assist them in helping them with a project, but once it gets to the "show me yours" phase, I get modest, and quite disinterested. Most people I know who create, share often. I have let a few friends have an mp3 of my work, mainly by accident when it was transferred off a card my partner had.
