I have seen a few lowriders and a very few american muscle cars. What is the difference between them. I know lowriders usually have shocks and special effects. American muscle has a strong engine I think but, What do you think??

although generally lowriders and american muscle cars both have retrous looks , lowriders are usually used for the purpose of what i say is exhibition cruising. there is very little exhibition of engine power but more of hydraulics power for lowriders. people generally looks upon the visual customisation for lowriders. coming to muscle cars , they are just epitome of raw power ready to be unleashed as soon as you put your feet on the gas. they are mainly used for racing specially drag race where high acceleration is required. generally not much attention is paid on their visual effects but what they unleash from under the hood is ready to put almost all fancy cars in shame. its all about raw power.

From the little I know sounds to me like your on track as far as the main differences go. Low riders may be more for cruising and muscle more for racing. Happy trails.
