Are the newer ipods any better than the old ones?

I have an ipod nano, the type that doesn't even play videos as I've never been bothered about watching videos on such a tiny screen. I have noticed the screens on the new ipod touch's are bigger and of course they have the touch sensitive screen, but apart from that are they any better than the old ones? Are the videos better quality and is the sound quality any better?

the ipod touch is the size of the iphone, basically it is an iphone without the phone.... so it has a larger screen

Sounds like I might as well get an iphone if I was going to bother, personally I don't feel I need internet and video's on the go. A music player is good as you can listen to music while you walk, I don't mind also carrying a phone though so I wouldn't be interested in having the 2 rolled into 1. Unless it's for work I can't really see the point in having the Internet on your mobile either.

I have been just as happy without any music on my phone, but I do like having internet - I can look things up when I'm out and not on my home computer. Like when I was in Houston back in December, we were looking for bead stores and I could look them up, and then find out their hours or at least their phone numbers and call them while riding around in my friend's car.

Well,I have an Ipod touch and a newer nano and I use them both lol Of course, the videos are much better on the Touch, for all,it has a bigger screen The main difference between an Ipod Touch and an Ipod is internet,no restrictions, zoom in,zoom out, emails etc. I'm not sure about the quality of the videos, they might be better but it depends on the video itself, however, the sound is better on a newer Ipod. The only thing I don't like about Ipod Touch is that you have to pay attention to what music you are playing, which makes a nano my "driving" Ipod. Unless you make a playlist,it's not very easy to look at the road and the screen at the same time, while I can operate my old Ipod with eyes closed

I didn't realise you could go on the Internet with an ipod touch, it sounds kind of pointless really, stuck somewhere between an ipod and an iphone.

Well i am using the ipod touch to post this. And i have to say i love it. I have never had others but i will say the video is very good quality. The audio not so good unless you get some headphones it is somewhat quite as a stand alone device.

I have a ipod speaker dock so it would be ok without head phones for me, my old ipod is starting to wear out so I will hopefully get a new one this year.
