What is liberty reserve and e-gold?

I have come accross these two things, liberty reserve and e-gold, when signing up on PTC sites. But i couldn't actually understand what are these. Only thing i could understand was that these are also payment methods like paypal and alertpay. But how can these be payment methods? I searched out them on google, but didn't quite understand their functioning well. Can anyone tell me about these? are they available for indians too?

its just another payment method like paypal and alertpay.. e-gold is little complicated, it all depends on the price of the gold and some sht thing i dnt undertsnad abt e-gold. about LR, it is a good payment processor and highly used by HYIP programs.
