hi all! i'm currently experiencing bouts of migraine for some unknown reason. i think this is because of the temperature change from where i was 3 weeks ago for a vacation, and probably from the occasional interrupted sleep (it's very noisy back here in my house starting at 5:00am). but, whatever the cause is, i don't like the feeling of these nasty migraines: the painful throbbing on your nape and sides of the head, the unbearable headache, the nausea and the irritability. in your case, what do you do to get rid of your migraine episode? thanks in advance!

Hi, I used to have migraines either from work stress, insufficient sleep or temperature changes. I hate to take medication for it, so most of the time, I would sleep it off. It looks like sleep doesn't seem to help you - maybe you should consult a doctor and get some medication. Take care!

hi there lazeebee! thank you for posting a response to this post! =) i think my migraine causes are almost the same as yours (stress, lack of sleep, temp changes) plus a lot other causes. hehehe. maybe taking medication would be the better way to go. and i think my paracetamol (or acetaminophen) does not work well with migraines (but they work with my mild headaches). anyways, thanks for your advice and more power to you!

You say your migraine accompanies nausea & vomitting. I guess that would make you eligible to go for medications. I would advise u to consult any medicine expert as you will find irritating factors every now & then in life. Try taking some sweet & lying down in a calm dark room. That may help as hypoglycemia worsens migraine. Keep away from television & long hours of reading. And if possible take a nap in the day.

hi there uditpanda! thank you for replying to this post! =) you're right. consulting a medical expert is the best way. unfortunately, always consulting a medical expert would be too expensive, so i would also try your other advices. hopefully these would help get rid (or even just to make the headache a bit tolerable) of my annoying migraines. right now, the migraine has stopped, but i had another episode last friday, and had an unrelated fever yesterday. hehe. anyways, thanks again and more power to you!

What I do for migraines is to lay down in a quite, dark room with an ice pack on my head. This seems to illeviate most of the pain. Although it doesn't completely get rid of the headache. You might ask your doctor for some medication if you are suffering migraines often. There are several on the market now that do wonders for these terrible headaches. Hope you are feeling better soon.

hi there creativedreamweaver! thank you for posting a reply! =) your advice sounds very helpful, and i would try them. and if there is still some discomfort from the migraine, i would then seek the help of a doctor, as you have advised. by the way, what brands of medicines do you take when you have a migraine? thanks again and more power to you!
