How do you get a lot of responses?

I have been here for around 5 months now and I never get over a couple responses for most of my discussions. I see people receiving over 20, 30, 50 and even more than 90 responses. How do they do this? What attracts readers to a discussion?

Just has to be a interesting discussion to talk about. Different titles attract different people. That's why there are different interests. :)

I do not have any discussion with so many posts in it. Biut one of my friend has make it. She has a discussion with more than 90 replies in it. I think to many people daily topic about their lives will draw more attention. Like children teaching probelms, how to take care of old people, how to keep a good relationship with parthers and something like this. People will meet this kind of problems in their lives, and can share the experince with each other. I hope that can help you a little.

Giving a helpful hint on how to handle something or just a short cut to cooking or something like that usually get a pretty good response....try that too!

What a lovely suggestion. I am interested in how to use the same material to prepare different dishes, may be I can share my experience on it, and making as many friends as I can here. Thank you for your kindness! Have a nice day.

It's a secret! LOL A good topic that anyone can relate to is always good. And having a lot of friends on one's list doesn't hurt either! Starting discussions in an appropriate interest can help. And don't forget to answer the people that respond to your discussions as it can help the discussion gain more exposure. That's about it...I think! Good luck!

I have many friends and always add the people that respond to me if they are not already my friend. I always try to put discussions in the appropriate interest as well. However, I will still try your suggestions. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

Good question. But I'm no help. When I start a discussion the most response I receive are about five. Besides, I'm not good at starting discussions so I just stick to responding.

I think there are starters and responders here. I am more of a starter and there are many that are like you, who prefer responding. It is not a bad thing so do not worry about it. Happy mylotting!

I don't think that we have to attracts people for our discussion. But it depend upon the nature of the discussion. I have lost my father on 3rd january and I have started a discussion which got 140 response so I think that it depend upon the topic and nature. And also u have a lot of friend to get good response.

Another suggestion is to use simple wording, if possible, as there are a certain percentage of foreigners on the site. When raising a question, you can give your ideas first as kind of hints to invite different and maybe more meaningful opinions. As the Chinese says goes, "Throw a brick to invite the jade."

That is a very good suggestion. When I ask questions, I sometimes give my own opinion as well so that people know what my opinion is and can always compare theirs to it if they do not have anything to say. Happy mylotting!

Keep it simple.....and keep in mind that there are lots of other from different countries.....like asking a question as I did a while back about how many kids did you want and how many did you end up with had over 123 responses....so think of something simple...like what is your favorite color....or something everyday..hopefully you'll get more responses!
