i was responding to a discussion here in mylot about hair care and dandruff and i remembered that once i had dandruff and my doctor gave me that shammpoo - NIzoral. it was good and i think it is from Johnsons and Johnsons if i remember it correctly. he told me how important it is to take care of yourself and diet . if it is good our skin and hairs will automatically be good. he told me not to shampoo in hot water. one should try lukewarm showers and rinse in cold water. if possible start shampooing daily with a mild shampoo. if that doesn't work then go for anti dandruff shampoo.
he also told me to avoid alcohol based styling products as they tend to dry out the scalp. add black current or evening prime rose to the diet. it is very good for te hairs. they will help the hairs, skin and nails look healthy.
these and many more are things which are told by my doctor and i wanna shar it with you all. if you also have some, please share it with us.
thanks

Hi aweins,
I have tried Nizoral and it was very effective too! I have some dandruff this time especially during winter and I need to shampoo everyday!
I don't like the idea but I have no choice!
We also need to just eat right, vegetables and fruits plus avoid dieting in a wrong way!

There are some herbal products that I knew in the market. But the best way to keep the hair as natural as possible is to avoid modern shampoo, colouring and straightening ext. Keep your scalp cool by taking naturally treated herbal oils and they are widely available from kerala, southern india. If you need more information. I'll provide the informations.

My mother in law has always had a bad dandruff problem and I told her to pour a cup of warm vegetable oil on her head, work it into the scalp all over then using a warm damp towel, cover the head, (turbin style) and go read a book or watch a movie for a couple of hours, then wash it all out. Do this at least once a week and her dandruff will go away and it did! She was so grateful, she bought me a new sweater!

hello
That information would come handy as i also face the same problem of dandruff. It gets worse in winter & the sequel is even dangerous...the uncontrllable hairfall. I would suggest to use another antidandruff shampoo names SCALPE. It has two constituents namely ketoconazole & zinc pyrithione that acts better than nizral itself, which has only ketoconazole. Also some Biotin supplementation will help. Its important to control the sebum production of the scalp that causes even more dandruff. Green leafy vegetable & meat liver may help in diet. Thank you .have a nice time.
