Do you keep a file of your home making?

When I was in Germany for a business trip, I was invited by several of my German friends. To my surprise, all of the hosts took great pleasure to show me piles of pictures from how the site was prepared, house built, rooms decorated, etc. A big portion of the decoration was designed and executed by themselves.
It is a great experience for all families to have a home to start their happy life. Why not keep a file for the happy beginning.

I often feel regret about this.Because I found it is more and more difficult now for me to remember those things that once bring happy to me in my head.Most of time I don't remember those I come accross the same scene or my parents remind me.So I support your suggestion.
