I am having a crisis. I do not know what to do. I am a writer, it is my passion. I did a freelance journalism course 2 years ago and I have had several pieces published although I have only been paid for two. We are having some financial problems at the moment, nothing major but concerns all the same. I have a seven year old and working from home is ideal for me so I can be here for her before and after school. I am not making any decent money from writing and my husband is beginning to pressure me to go and get a job outside the home. The only reason I am reluctant to do that is that if I work outside the home I will no longer be able to dedicate my time to writing for my blog, MyLot, several other writing sites and sending my articles to editors. I know I have to make a decision; stick it out with the writing as these things take time or give it up once and for all and get a job in an office which I hate. I would be very sad to give up the one thing that keeps me sane; my writing. Anybody out there have any suggestion what I should decide?

I wish I culd help you, but I think you are the only one who can sort this out, unless you get a specific offer. I believe you are young enough to persue your writing career later. I started writing at sixty, so it's never too late. Put your family first Paula, and everything will eventaully fall into place.

Thanks for responding. It's all about priorities isn't it? You are right writing is one of the things you can do at any age. Good advice.
