A few years ago there was a lot of embroidered clothes in the shops, you saw embroidery on jeans and bags particularly. Do you think embroidery is still fashionable?

I do. I see it all the time but then I'm kinda tuned into it. I have a home embroidery machine and a commercial embroidery machine and the software to create my own designs. It's a lot of fun.

I've never used an embroidery machine, so far I've always stuck to hand embroidery, would like to try one someday though

Embroidery will always be fashionable... but the one sure technique is tone-on-tone. I use it to do everything from crewel to single-thread fine cross stitch, and the subtle look is always appreciated by the people I give my projects to. Over time, the fabric and the thread change color at different rates, and I'm amazed that I actually made some of the things I've seen again after 10 years or so.
