Are Critics over critical sometimes?

Hi Friends, I have to admit I am not much of a reader when it comes to books, But have recently started reading to divert my focus from the recent heart break in a relationship. This was the first book I have ever read (apart from my college books) and have to admit it is simple yet powerful book that enraptures you and connects to you immediately.I found it very useful to overcome my negative thoughts and letting go things that have happened. I realize though that due to its simplicity in content perhaps most of the readers would admit they did not benefit from the book or already knew what the book was trying to say. Now my question is, Does this make the book bad? As some critics would argue the book highlights most of the things we already know? Does critics get sometimes over critical? I mean if you think about it, the answer would be probably yes it says what we already know, But sometimes knowing isn't enough. Most of the things we know we still don't accept that its true because of our fears. Sometimes we need a different perspective to look at the same things we know to realize what we are missing. people are over critical sometimes and forget to highlight the positives of a thing and continue to focus on the negative aspects of it saying its not good enough. Good and bad is in the eye of beholder. So folks how many of you agree? Any different thoughts are welcome. Take care, Anand

In my opinion most of the critics out there are people who could not make it as a writer, an actor, a sports person or anything in their field. I do not pay heed to what the critics have to say about a book, i judge the book myself after reading it because to me its my opinion that counts.

This book is great! The concept is so simple but it is very life changing. We already knew the lesson this book wants to share with us, but I think we have to be reminded also. Because whenever we encounter difficulties in life, there is a tendency that we forget our strong points which makes us give up. And that is a big "No, No" in life. Critics will always be critics. It is okay if we will listen to them but we should also evaluate what they say. Not everything they say is true anyway. And, everybody is entitled to their opinion. So, let's just respect each other's point of view!
