I have been so, so busy since Christmas that my inbox has filled up with all my friends discussions but I have just been so tired that I haven't been able to respond to them. It was my son's birthday on Tuesday and I held a birthday party for him and twenty of his best friends on Saturday. I must have a had a moment of weakness when I agreed to let my 8 year old son invite half of his school mates, most of which were boys of course! I am sorry to say that now I have deleted most of the notifications in my inbox and will be starting afresh again now that things are back to some sort of normality! I have been distracted from myLot for another reason too which I might tell you all about at a later date!! Sorry to all my friends that I nearly always respond to and hope you can forgive me. I will try to do better from now on!! What distracts you from myLot?

Hi Humbug, I have been as bad myself lately and am trying to play catch up but inbox got full again so had to make space. I wonder if the other activity could be a man (ssssh if it is I won't say anything) I agree you must have been mad having lots of 8 year old boys round and no wonder you are tired LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

I have to admit I did start to get worried about you my friend and not for selfish reasons either, I wasn't bothered about the notifications, I was just wondering if you were ok, when you have close friends on Mylot and you don't hear from them you begin you wonder if everything is ok, I know life throws us with crisis at times, but I hope that if you need help, support and advice you know exactly where your friends are and you are never alone! I remember now that party and that discussion about generating entertainment for 20 8 year olds, I bet you are truly glad it's over! But I am sure you scored heavily with brownie points and not just from your sons either ;0) Good on you, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger as they say, welcome back dear friend!

Hey there wolfie34 Aww bless you and I would feel the same if I didn't see you around for a while! I have been into myLot but just haven't done much at all and also when you see all those emails of notifications in your inbox and you are tired you just don't feel like it but hopefully I am ontop of things now!! The party wasn't too bad actually though I have lost my voice now but I am glad that I have a very loud wolf whistle I could rely on. I wasn't stupid about it and held the party for only 2 hours and had some help too. Thanks for caring wolfie

Well as I wasn't back from my break from mylot then... and I hadn't become your friend... no apology necessary Talking of parties though.... I let my kids have one big blow out party when they are young... after that it is treats or a couple of friends round, that sort of thing. Well my middle lad had his for his 6th birthday. I hired the local church hall, a bouncy castle and did loads of food. Told him he could invite whoever he wanted. So we ended up with almost the whole class there (around 25 kids). Then half the neighbourhood as well! I forgot in my planning that my lad plays with kids that my 13 year old is friends with. We did one head count and we had 40 kids there all between the ages of 2 and 14 He had the best time ever... me on the other hand was very stressed... the castle was even let down at one point. But it was worth it to see how much he enjoyed it! Sorry not what your original post was aimed at but .... hey ho !!

Hey there mummyofthree People thought I was mad holding a party for 20 kids (well 23 including mine) but it was only for 2 hours, I am not totally off my trolley and I did have some help, no way could I have done it on my own. My other two boys will also have the opportunity to have a party and invite 20 kids on their 8th birthday. Oh and I hired a hall too, no way would I have 20 7/8 year old boys running around my house! Two of the boys my son did invite are some what notorious for their bad behaviour but he wanted them to come so I kept a close eye on them and sorted them out when I needed to! Cheers mummy

It's more like "what does myLot distract me from?" This dang place is habit forming! But I don't use e-mail notifications. Just couldn't keep up with them. My system is more random and much lousier. I look on the 'friends started' tab. Also I make an effort to visit the people who visit my discussions. Also I have a few 'little favorites' that I visit often because they make me laugh. It's not perfect and I know I am missing somethings, but it works for me.

Hi ya dawn Yes you are definitely right when you say 'what does mylot distract me from', very true. You know what though, whatever works for you is right for you and you are not going to be penalised for it, well I won't penalise you anyway, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Am I making any sense today or am I just burbling? Well thanks for listening to me babble and for your response

I understand completely. I also have children and it's very easy to get distracted from mylot at any given moment. I'm sure everyone else can relate in some way too.

Hi Humbug, I had wondered if you were ok has I hadn't seen you on the other site but I'm not a big user of mylot I've never found it to be addictive, although I like to pop on and off if some friends post a discussion of interest to me. We're all entitled to a break hun.

Hi there scorpio19 Yeah you have noticed I haven't popped my head around the door of SSS either but I will do soon I promise. I have noticed that I am missing out on a few discussions there too that I would like to join in before they finish!! Cheers scorpio PS Are you going to set up a day and time for another chat? After 8pm when the kids are in bed is normally a good time for me!!

Hi hun, yes ok I will set that up again, some folk seemed to lose interest, although some of us from Blessedb go on yahoo messenger and chat that is really a good night, so when we do that one I will send an invite also, to you but I will defintely do that on SSS and around about that time is good for me too.

Hi Humbug, I get worried when I don't hear from you on mylot. But I assume that everyone of us is absobored in his daily life and having a party for twenty kids is not a joke. I hope that you managed to keep them quiet and enjoying themselves without wrecking your home. My personal life and my work do distract me from my work. Lately I have been assigned a new task and therefore I have to prepare a lot of things at home. thus i have lesser free time and lesser time for mylot.

Hi ronaldinu It is a tricky one isn't because I wanted to tell people that I was really busy and unable to spend time on myLot but then I didn't have the time to post a discussion to tell everyone and also I didn't want to get responses from that discussion that I would feel bad about taking a long time to respond to. You must have thought I was mad inviting 20 kids to a party to my home but I hired a hall! Mad I maybe but crazy I am not LOL

I am a brand new friend of yours as I just accepted your invitation, so I am in your profile and responding to some of your discussions so I wouldn't know that you haven't been very active lately. But it is nice to see you telling your friends why you haven't been here. I like that. I have some very good friends here in mylot that we chat back and forth with each other so if I don't hear anything from one of them for a few days I wonder why. I have been very busy since a week before christmas and finally things are getting back to normal and I can participate more in mylot, the way I used to. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

It is hard trying to answer all the discussions when you've got a house to run and children to look after, that's what I find. Some of the discussions are great, but I can't answer some how I want too, because I always seem in a rush to do something

Hi ya amanda333 I think I have realised that I probably spend too much time on myLot when I should be doing other things that are so much more important. Afterall the kind of money that I earn on myLot is certainly not going to be life changing or even pay the bills, though I did get some car seat covers with the money I saved from 2 months worth!! Cheers amanda

Hello humbug25! It's ok. I know not that we can't answer all the discussions of our friends because we cannot get all the notifications. That's why, I only chose my friends whom I turned on the notifications and those friends are the ones who always responded to my discussions. I know that if I turn on all the notifications on my friends list, I would not get all the notifications and I don't want to miss all my loyal friends discussions. What I distracted me from mylot is that when I have a personal problem and I jsut can't concentrate here.
