Job Placement

Ok this is going to be such a stupid question but I am going to ask it anyways. What exactly is job placement? Do they get a job for you or what exactly does it do?

a job placement is when you work for somebody as an intern kind of. but somebody else or an outside organization pays your wages for you, so basically somebody gets your work for free but you still get paid for it. in the end if you do a good job then they have an option to hire you
