So today was the big day! At 1 o'clock this afternoon we went downtown for the Disney On Ice show. We really thought our toddler would absolutely love this, the boy is completely crazy about Mickey Mouse. Unfortunatly the majority of the show terrified him.
We had front row seats, a foot away from the ice. Whenever one of the characters would skate by us my toddler would scream his little head off. He got used to it after about an hour, but he was still scared by the giant whale that came out for the Pinnochio skit, the beast from Beauty and the Beast, Bruce the shark from Finding Nemo, Pumba from Lion King (only because he came right over to us and put his face right up next to my son and stood there for a minute). Otherwise he eventually learned to enjoy the show and even clapped after each performance, but then at the very end all the characters came out to shake hands of all the kids sitting up front, and my son cried again for this, even when Mickey was over by us
The rest of the kids enjoyed it though. My twins have moments they'll never forget. When the blue fairy came out for the Pinnochio skit, a bunch of skaters came out with these huge ribbons trailing behind them. One of them came right over and but the ribbon over my daughter's head. She had this look of pure amazement on her face.
Then when the Incredibles came out, my 6 year old son happened to be wearing an Incredibles t shirt, and one of the characters noticed, and pointed at my son, and gave him a thumbs up and pointed at his own shirt.
The show was absolutely amazing. I have tons and tons of pics, and even a couple videos. I'm so glad we got to go.
Have you been to a fun event lately?

Yo seem to be having so much fun with your family lately. This is great and I am happy for you all. We can never predict how children will react. My 30 month old twins received a noisy singing spiderman (the boy) and his sister received a doll's push cahir. He screamed at Spider man and she loved it and then she was playing with spiderman and he was pushing his teddy in the doll's pushchair! Eventually he became used to it and now it no loinger frightens him but you can never tellwith kids. No, I haven't attended any special activities but my youngest son is her until the end of the month. He lives in the U.K. so this is always wonderful for me.

We always try to have some fun. We enjoy doing things like this, and shell out a lot of money to be able to do so. Yesterday's little adventure cost us $300, just for the seats. But it was well worth it. It's something the kids will never forget.
When my twins were little we brought them to see the Wiggles show, that was a lot of fun. We had to drive an hour to get there, but it was worth it.
When my oldest was about 4 we drove over 2 hours to see a live Batman show.
That's just the sort of stuff we do.
Here's another pic from Disney On Ice...

Here that is called a Renessaince Festival, they have them every weekend of the summer. It's about an hour drive, and it is a bit pricey, but we've been there a few times. We did go once this past summer.
