I was just watching "Access Hollywood" and they interviewed a big wig at the scientology office and they said that there is no way that they do not recognize autism. What they were talking about as far as having medicine for mental problems is how the schools what to drug the kids.Kelly Preston went to congress about that. And I personally know what they are talking about. My son was diagnosed by the school only as to having ADHD and had me put him on ridlin. It did not help him.It did give him side effects thou.He started getting stomach aches and headaches. After a month I took him off it and the school was not happy.Even after a doctor that the schools sent us to said that he did not have ADHD,they still insisted he had it.
Do you think that the public schools are pushing the kids away to these drugs? Do you think it was right for Kelly Preston to fight congress about this? Do you think scientology was right?

Well I don't know what Autism has to do with this, but maybe I read it wrong.
Anyway, I do undserstand what your saying. I have a daughter & the school seems to believe she has ADHD & sent us to someone. The doctor says she could very well have ADHD, but doesn't believe putting kids on medication for ADHD & I'm kind of happy about that & glad the doctor actually agreed to rule out medication.
The school still pushes us to keep having her tested & get her on medication, but not a dang thing they can make me do, even more so when doctors refuse to medicate my child & she has been diagnosed as ADHD.
So not all children with ADHD needs to be medicated... sometimes different routes can help...
Maybe at times the school can be pushy, but I think it's all how people see it. Some belive kids with ADHD should be medicated & some don't. I guess it all depends.
As for Autism... I do have a son who is Autistic, but we saw the signs from a young age. He was diagnosed at age 2. No medication for Autism.
As for Scientology.. so many rumors about them going around, who knows what is true.
