Taught 1/2 day in a closet today. Get to do that all week!

It was a walk-in closet for Gymn equipment storage, but not it's a miniature classroom. Decorated as best the teacher could.
I had fun, just a few kids at a time. They were great and some were really, really hard working. I'm taking the class for the teacher every afternoon for a week. Love it. I get the same kids for a week. How wonderful is that? Got to do what I like best: Individualized work. Small group work. A little of various subjects (I like variety or reading). Less than a mile from my house. I can't wait for spring and summer, I want to walk to my neighborhood school and teach. I haven't had a job I can walk to (besides babysitting and I couldn't because they came home late at night, could walk to, but not back) and back. I'm sooo psyched!
Only drawback, no heat in the room, so they have to bring in a small space heater, it's not as good as mine or as energy efficiet. Wish I could bring mine.
My old school, I had class in the bus garage due to being part of the Baby Boomer overload. When I graduated college, I taught in the garage, too.
So have you ever taught 1/2 day? In a closet or bus garage? In an unusual setting? Were you ever taught in a closet, bus garage or an unusual setting? Did you ever work 1/2 day?

Sounds like you had a very interesting day today. Glad you enjoyed the class other than being a little chilly.
I don't have a degree, unfortunately. Didn't finish college. Bad me! I went when our kids were a little older and just couldn't handle the load of school, home and part time job. Kicking myself now for not continuing.

Yes, timing is everything. It's very difficult to go to college when you have too many demands at one time. I tried to tell "kids" who had full time jobs and full time college that they would probably not be able to do both, but you know us old people, we don't know anything until they say, "Why didn't someone tell me I couldn't do both?" Excuse me? Sounds like your were realistic. Too bad you didn't go back your kids went off on their own.
You could still go back if there is something you really want to do. Take care and thank you for responding to this post. Take care.

Yes, all of those are challenges. If there is something you really want to do and there is an online accredited college, you could take the classes at home. Depending on what it is, some colleges have classes that aren't all sitting. But some things, like teaching, you have to actually go to the college or other places. Thanks and take care.
